Teresa Teare and Lindsey White Get UI Ruling Overturned
Teresa and Lindsey successfully got an adverse unemployment insurance decision vacated in Circuit Court. The court found that the UI appeals examiner had failed to consider whether the claimant was an independent contractor for the company, who would therefore not be entitled to UI benefits, and remanded the matter for a hearing on that issue. At the end of the court proceedings, however, the claimant acknowledged that she was, in fact, an independent contractor.
